The 24th of May 2025, was a day of profound grace and joyful celebration for the Novitiate Community in Barasat, Kolkata. In a deeply moving ceremony, Sr. Manisha Tirkey and Sr. Samita Bada made their First Profession of Vows, offering their lives to God in the spirit of the Daughters of the Cross. Surrounded by nearly eighty faithful, this sacred moment marked the beginning of their Consecrated journey—a courageous “yes” to the call of Christ.
The event was the fruit of prayerful preparation, dedicated teamwork, and the unwavering commitment of the Novitiate community. The serene weather seemed to echo heaven’s blessing upon this holy occasion.
Rev. Sr. Catherine FC, Provincial of the Calcutta Province, received their vows with warmth and solemnity, embodying the Congregation’s ongoing legacy of faith and service.
The ceremony was concluded with a fellowship meal, radiating the spirit of communion and celebration among the guests. They departed with hearts and spirits uplifted, renewed and having witnessed a powerful testimony of God’s call still echoing in today’s world.
This First Profession was not just a personal milestone, but a vocation glimpse—a reminder to all present that God’s call to serve, love, and sacrifice continues to inspire hearts and shape lives.
