On this eventful day steeped in reverence and hope, the body of Blessed Marie Thérèse was solemnly translated from the Mother House Church to the grandeur of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Liège. This sacred, ceremonial procession marked not only the physical movement of her earthly remains, but the awakening and deepening of her spiritual legacy, one rooted in compassion, courage, and unwavering faith.
As the Church bells resounded through the town, hearts stirred, emotions were aroused and the town came alive. It awoke in the people of Liege a great appreciation, an owning and pride for one from their very own town and culture who, raised to the height of sanctity was now honoured to be placed in the Cathedral.
Church dignitaries of various ranks from different countries, the Apostolic Delegate, Bishops and priests from Genk, Liege and beyond, Daughters of the Cross, Friends of the Congregation, Religious of other Congregations, and students from our many schools came to participate in this historic occasion.
Her journey continues today, no longer just through the streets of Liège, but in the hearts and lives of all her Daughters spread across the continents worldwide and in those who dare to live with love and sacrifice. May her spirit ignite a spark of compassion, inspiring others to uplift the most vulnerable, bringing them comfort, dignity, respect and the love.
