The Associates of the Daughters of the Cross of Liège are lay people who share in the Spirituality, Mission, and Values of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross of Liège, a Roman Catholic religious institute founded in Belgium in 1833 by Blessed Marie Thérèse Haze. While not members of the Congregation themselves, the Associates are deeply connected with its Charism and actively participate in its apostolic mission in various ways.
The Daughters of the Cross were founded with a strong commitment to serving the poor, the sick, and the marginalized, especially through education, healthcare, and pastoral work. As the Congregation expanded internationally, a felt need emerged for lay people to be more formally involved in the mission and Charism of the Sisters. This gave rise to the formation of Associates, who, while continuing their lives in the secular world, make a conscious commitment to live according to the Spirit of the Cross—following Jesus in humility, service, and love.
